Designed by Arthur Umanoff for Shaver Howard, this dining set reflects a moment in mid century design where function, leisure, and material innovation came together effortlessly. Umanoff was known for combining wrought iron with natural textures—creating pieces that feel both architectural and relaxed, equally at home in a refined interior or a sunlit garden room.
This particular set captures that balance beautifully. The sculptural iron base gives it structure and lightness, while the woven resin wicker (designed for durability) softens the form and adds warmth. The round glass top keeps everything visually open—allowing the craftsmanship beneath to remain part of the experience.
What I love most about this piece is how it lives in a space. This piece invites light, conversation, and ease. It almost disappears into the architecture while still grounding the room. It’s one of those rare sets that feels just as right for morning coffee as it does for an intimate dinner.
The set includes the original table and the original four matching chairs.
Excellent vintage condition. Light hairline surface scratches to the glass consistent with age, only noticeable under close inspection. Minor break in the wicker wrap; structurally sound and visually unobtrusive.
A complete and increasingly hard-to-find designer set, especially in this condition and with all original chairs intact.
