Crafted in walnut, its sides are carved with scrolling motifs reminiscent of musical notes, a decorative gesture that reflects its academic origins. Iron fittings and hardware reinforce the joinery, while small wood-and-iron casters at the base allow for ease of movement. Thoughtfully constructed, the ladder folds flat when not in use. It carries the patina of generations of study and performance, a rare functional object shaped by both craft and cultural history. Condition: Very good antique condition. The walnut frame shows surface wear, scratches, and indentations, consistent with age and use. Natural oxidation to the iron. Casters remain intact and functional. The folding mechanism operates smoothly. Additional Dimensions: When closed: 10"D"; 73.25"H See less
