For more than 20 years, former Tarpon High School graduate Rocky Bridges has used everyday, throwaway objects as the focal element of his art to engage audiences in provocative conversation.

A graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design, with additional study at the Art Institute of Chicago and New York's Cooper Union, Bridges has taught art and art history to students since 1990 at the Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland.

Bridges has been awarded the Florida Individual Artist Fellowship in the Visual Arts; a Residency Fellowship from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts; and was named the Japan Fulbright Memorial Scholar in 2007.

This evocative piece with 3 cut-out holes on the top thtough which the seethe remainder of the artwork, consists of layered black scribbles on a white background, enclosed within a red and orange painted border. The piece is in good condition.
