The sculpture … Read more Daum, France, created this stunning crystal turtle figurine paperweight or ornamental sculpture by hand in the early 1970s. The sculpture features a lovely turtle with dimensional carving. The piece is signed on the edge with the acid-etched "Daum - France" mark.
Measurements: 3.75 in wide (9.5 cm) by 2.75 in deep (7 cm) by 1.57 in high (4 cm).

Note: Animal representation has been one of Daum Manufacture's favorite themes since the beginning of the 20th Century. Almaric Walter and Antonin Daum, influenced by Naturalism and the Art Nouveau movement, were the driving forces behind the animal movement. The manufacturer then created decorative objects in crystal, pate de verre, and realistic animal sculptures with astonishing polychromy. See less
