The … Read more This superb Art Deco crystal caviar serving bowl, dish, or chiller was designed and crafted by WMF, circa 1930. The server boasts a chic form, featuring a rounded, blown crystal container bowl for the ice, adorned with carving and etching, and a silver-plated metal trim, tall handle, and holder. The caviar container insert is made of the same blown crystal and has a removable silver plate lid. The caviar chiller has a large capacity to accommodate a large party. Each silver plate element is marked with the WMF legal hallmarks.

The caviar bowl insert is 5.50 in diameter (14 cm) by 5.94 in high with lid (15 cm).

Reference: WMF (formerly known as Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) is a German tableware manufacturer founded in 1853 in Geislingen an der Steige. WMF was originally called Metallwarenfabrik Straub & Schweizer and was opened as a metal repair workshop. Through mergers and acquisitions, by 1900, they had become the world's largest producer and exporter of household metalware, primarily in the Jugendstil, or Art Nouveau style, designed in the WMF Art Studio under Albert Mayer, a sculptor and designer who served as director from 1884 to 1914. In the 1920s, WMF produced and delivered decorative hand-finished household products worldwide. The Ikora range, along with the company's stained glass and metalware, has solidified WMF's reputation as a producer of hand-finished products made in Germany.
