Each is slightly different, it appears a younger … Read more Very unique and mysterious bookend pair featuring Chinese or Japanese mythological figures. Each is slightly different, it appears a younger and older version of the same figure (perhaps Shoki?) or father and son each holding a foo dog as if to tame him. They are lovely vintage Asian art statement and conversation pieces that will make a great addition to any eclectic interior.

I believe they are cast plaster, although I am not 100% sure. They are heavy and coated with black lacquer that is chipping here and there. They have a resonant tone to them that sounds like metal, but they are nonmagnetic. Please see all photos for condition details. Small chips to black lacquer throughout.

Each measures ~8.25" tall x with 2.75" x 3.5" base. Ask any questions prior to purchase as all sales are as is and final.
