This versatile piece originally served as a grocer's shop counter in the 1800's and is finished on all four sides.
The front area served as storage with 3 drawers and open shelving, while the other three sides are paneled.
The reclaimed heavy thick top is made from boxcar flooring (from a train/railroad cart) and compliments the warm aged pine of the shop counter base.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this one of a kind kitchen island.
