Chairish requires a BRAND be selected or the option UNKNOWN. As "The Royal Furniture Company" is not one of the options offered, I have selected UNKNOWN. However, the Makers Mark inside the right-hand door indicates that this sideboard was manufactured in the early 1920s by The Royal Furniture Company in Grand Rapids Michigan.
This gorgeous and petite piece has greeted guests in the foyer, graced the alcove at the top of the stairs and, more traditionally, served in the dining room throughout the years in my homes. It fits so many places and upgrades the entire room.
The key and lock work perfectly and once the right door is open the left door is released by an internal release that works as well. Both interior drawers slide easily. Please review photos...dovetailed construction and even the drawer bottoms have been stained.
Sun has faded someof the top surface and this can be restored, if desired. Also, the right door rubs the base very slighly when the door is opened.
The Royal Furniture Company was a prestigious furniture manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan, operating from 1892 to 1931. Known for high-end, custom-made reproductions of 18th-century English and French styles, the company was a key player during the city's "Furniture City" era.

Furniture City History
Product Style and Quality
Royal was famous for authentic reproductions using expensive materials and lavish detailing. Common styles included:
Period Revivals: Sheraton, Hepplewhite, Chippendale, Louis XV, and Louis XVI.
Craftsmanship: Unlike mass-production firms, Royal emphasized hand-carving, elaborate finishing, and rich upholstery.
Notable Pieces: They produced everything from 22-karat gold leaf parlor suites to high-quality mahogany and walnut dining sets.
Identifying Authenticity (Makers Marks)
Early 1920s: A metal tag featuring a bust of George Washington in relief, reading "ROYAL FURNITURE CO. / GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.".
