This most likely Husband and Wife pair represent “Marital Bliss”, The paintings are well done but unsigned. The husband figure has an old repair at the mouth that has been embellished with thread, giving it a humorous folk art narrative of the perfect husband. Probably late 19th century European in origin.

Condition: Some wear and flaking to the paint on both pieces. The male portrait has an old repair to the mouth that has been embellished with thread.
