Beautiful handwoven bamboo storage vessel featuring a softly squared form, fitted lid, and richly aged smoke-darkened finish that reflects decades of practical use and careful craftsmanship. Constructed from tightly woven split bamboo with reinforced bentwood edging and hand-tied lashing, the basket embodies the functional artistry of the Akha and neighboring upland tribal communities, where such containers were traditionally used to store rice, dried foods, sewing materials, textiles, and other household necessities.
