Modern Cézanne style still life with collage by Dorothy Jane (Milne) Eggen (American, 1907-1986) Her still life is a Homage to Paul Cézanne's - Still Life with Jug and Fruit, 1890, Paul Cézanne was a French Post-Impressionist painter whose work introduced new modes of representation and influenced avant-garde artistic movements of the early 20th century. Cézanne is said to have formed the bridge between late 19th-century Impressionism and early 20th century. Well executed with a hint of Collage (newsprint). Exhibited, Allied Artist Guild, Menlo Park 1961/1962. Studied with Anna Wu Weakland (Chinese/American, 1924-2014) a Los Altos artist 1961, Oil on Canvas on illustration board (artists board), in a newer craftsman Giltwood Frame.
