Original charcoal drawing from the 1930s Art Deco period by André Margat.
The artwork depicts a stylized feline, characteristic of the elegant and modernist aesthetics of the Art Deco era.
It bears the studio stamp: "Atelier André Margat".
The drawing will be shipped free of charge in a beautiful vintage frame dating from the 1950s.

About the artist
André Margat was an illustrator, draftsman, engraver, lacquer artist, sculptor, and animal painter.
He received formal academic training at the Beaux-Arts and later at the Decorative Arts School in Paris. During the 1920s and 1930s, he illustrated numerous books and journals such as La Proue and Poésie, for which he also worked as an editor, as well as the Revue française politique et littéraire.
In the 1920s, he joined the “Groupe des Douze,” a collective of French animal artists that included renowned figures such as François Pompon and Paul Jouve.
Known for his depictions of felines and wild animals, his work often features strong stylization typical of the Art Deco style.
In 1932–1933, he exhibited alongside other members of the group in the salons of the famous Art Deco designer Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann. In 1988, he was awarded the Edouard Marcel Sandoz Prize at the National Salon of Animal Artists in Bry-sur-Marne
