A naive depiction of a vernacular white farmhouse with a vibrant blue sky and lush green landscape. The house itself is very flat, seeming to defy perspective. Rendered as an almost solid white mass with limited architectural surface detailing, aside from the windows and doors. The artist paid special attention to small details like the curtains that adorn each window, and the paths cut into the landscape leading downhill. This work retains its original period frame with striped gilt liner. Likely from Massachusetts, as evidenced by its original paper label on the reverse of the artist board. Unsigned.
