This charming vintage Portuguese ceramic covered dish is one of the latter. Wonderfully sculptural asparagus bundle, tied with painted green ribbons as though it has just arrived from the garden.

Beautifully modeled asparagus stalks and tips are finished in a soft palette of creamy yellow, pale celadon, and deep asparagus green. The lid features an integrated handle and a sweet painted bow.

Likely intended as a covered vegetable dish or small tureen, it is equally wonderful displayed as a decorative piece. Playful yet elegant, it would be lovely on a spring table, kitchen shelf, or collected sideboard.
