This curated pair of original Japanese woodblock prints (Kacho-ga) represents the height of Meiji-era (1868–1912) artistry. Created by Ohara Koson, the premier artist of the bird-and-flower genre, these works are celebrated for their atmospheric depth and technical precision.
The Art: The first print depicts wild geese descending under a full moon, utilizing expert bokashi (shading) to create a soft, luminous glow. The second print is a rare luxury edition featuring white egrets against a metallic silver-toned background, designed to shimmer in ambient light much like traditional silver-leaf screen paintings.
The Framing: A standout feature for the designer-client, these prints are professionally mounted in mid-century, deep-profile hand-carved wooden frames.
