Seated atop a stylized animal-form stool, the figure embodies themes of fertility, protection, abundance, and ancestral continuity commonly associated with ceremonial sculpture traditions of western Cameroon. The intricate incised surface decoration, warm aged metal patina, and highly expressive form give the piece exceptional sculptural presence from every angle.
