Joe Nielander double mouth glass sculpture.
2003, thick cased blown glass in red, yellow and black lip wraps, unusual design with two openings to the sides, signed.
Joe Nielander has been blowing glass for over 35 years. He’s had his own studio in Spruce Pine for 25 years. Joe was Penland School’s Studio Coordinator for five years. He received his MFA with Joel Philip Myers at Illinois State University where he taught all levels of glass. As an apprentice, he worked with Richard Ritter, Rob Levin and Stephen Dee Edwards.
