Whimsical and entirely authentic New York City Parking Meter Table Lamp Conversion.
Mid 20th C. - likely 1970s.
Original gold paint finish on heavy metal body - gives the piece a nice substantial feel. A nice easy patina and still bright.
Lamp conversion is well done and modern. Complete with finial - but without shade.
Total height to top of finial is 26." Diameter at center is 8." Diameter at round base is 7."
Turning coin entry toggle is still operative, and it can still show two red flags in the notice window - Time Expired and Violation in bold red, just like the old days. Coin box is removed from reverse - otherwise entirely authentic.

We couldn't resist the chance to be the only ones on our block with a parking meter lamp!
This is retro urban cool for sure, and good fun. and, practically, a great and useful piece on a porch (indoor or outdoor), in a child's room or a guest room frequented by young adults, or just in a fabulous fun city apartment.
And the fun you can have choosing a shade for it...the possibilities are endless!
