Gilbert Poillerat (1902–1988) was a legendary French master metalworker and decorator whose console tables are icons of the French "1940s style". His work often features a neoclassical aesthetic characterized by hand-forged wrought iron bases and elegant stone or marble tops.

Gilbert Poillerat’s work is distinguished by a unique blend of French Neoclassicism and Art Deco fluidity. His signature motifs often transform rigid iron into graceful, almost lace-like forms.
