Set of two Meji era (1877 & 1883) Japanese woodblock print of Samurai / Kabuki actors. The first print is by Morikawa Chikashige (active 1869-1882), who was an apprentice Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900), one of the most successful woodblock print artist of the Meji era. The second print is by an unknown artist (the print is unsigned, potentially part of a tryptic, but the printing year is indicated). These are original antique prints from 1877 & 1883 and have been newly framed.

Condition: Good condition for age – some imperfections. Please note that antique and vintage artworks may have traces of time, stains and creases due to age, so please review all photos.

Size: The images are 9.25” x 13.75” and 9”x14” (vertical oban). Frame size 13” x 17”.
