Meji era Japanese woodblock print of Samurai / Kabuki actor by Morikawa Chikashige (active 1869-1882). This is an original antique print from 1877 and has been newly framed.
The print can be bought separately or as a set of 2 (please find the set in our Chairish shop to save on shipping cost).
ARTIST: Morikawa Chikashige (active 1869-1882) was an apprentice of Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900), one of the most successful woodblock print artist of the Meji era.
Condition: Good condition for age – some imperfections. Please note that antique and vintage artworks may have traces of time, stains and creases due to age, so please review all photos.
Period: Meji – printed in 1877
Size: The image is 9.25” x 13.75” (vertical oban). Frame size 13” x 17”.
