For those who love beautifully distressed leather, this three-seat sofa designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm for Alfred Kill International in the 1960s is a fantastic collectors piece with decades of gorgeous age. Known as the 'FK-6720' sofa, the piece embodies the duo’s celebrated balance of elegance, comfort, and structural clarity.
This early production example features its original cognac leather upholstery, beautifully patinated with age, giving it the warm, lived-in character only decades of use can create. We purposefully left the leather as it is, given many people love the casual refinement of patinated leather, however we can touch up the areas with color loss so that it is blended in with the cognac color, contact us for more details if you are interested in this option.
The seat and back cushions are generously proportioned, while the hand-wrapped leather arms, similar to that on the 'Grasshopper' chaise, add a tactile detail that speaks to the designers’ commitment to craftsmanship.
The sculptural frame, executed in polished stainless steel, is both minimal and architectural, providing a crisp contrast to the soft leather. From every angle, the sofa demonstrates the refined precision that made Fabricius and Kastholm leading figures in postwar Scandinavian design.
This designer couch is not only a functional seating solution but also a collectible design icon, perfectly suited for both residential and corporate interiors.
