This highly collected early production original of the PK-31 loveseat sofa by Poul Kjærholm for E. Kold Christensen has beautifully aged black leather and patinated steel.
Designed in 1958 and this example produced between 1958 and mid 1960s (Denmark). Currently Fritz Hansen is reproducing this design and the cost for a new PK 31 loveseat is approximately $40,000. This wonderfully aged collectors piece is a significant discount yet is much more collectible and desirable as it is an original and not a reproduction such as the Fritz Hansen examples.
Poul Kjærholm's PK-31 series was designed as a single unit that could multiply through repetition from a single armchair to a four seat sofa. The PK 31/2 love seat wrests on a base of three steel legs capped with black plastic feet. The down filled leather cushions are original to the settee so is the leather and canvas wrapped frame and steel, which is stamped with the EKC logo.

CONDITION:
Aged and patinated example, ready for use in a collection. Leather has moderate patina and light distressing throughout including areas with scuffs, scratches, abrasions, small repairs, color loss, fading and more. Steel has areas of patina, one leg with slight bend. Overall attractive example for a collector and in a vintage appropriate setting.
