A classic Asian / Oriental heavy porcelain planter or jardiniere of the highest quality.
This goldfish / koi fish bowl features a hand painted wrap around shoreline scene of exotically plumed & vibrant designs of Mandarin ducks standing or sleeping, under lots of white plum blossoms in prominent and rich enamels, highlighted with gilt / gold.
Navy blue, black and gold border & rim of clouds and stars, the body features 'moriage', another sign of the pieces high quality.
These small raised enamel dots on Chinese porcelain are often associated with antique export pieces and are called moriage.
Interior features three orange large koi fish swimming amongst green pond weeds.
Vintage, Mid 20th Century.
Condition is very good. A really Chinese beautiful planter!
