From a Rye New York estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this gorgeous Large Vintage American Open Fretwork … Read more From a Rye New York estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this gorgeous Large Vintage American Open Fretwork Carved Flamed Mahogany Tilt Top Breakfast / Tea Table. This example hails from 1930's to 1950's, American made beauty in English 19th century Chippendale style, top quality craftsmanship! Carvings are spectacular, large octagonal top is framed in with an Chinese export style open fretwork "walls" at the very edge. Table stands on tripod base, three Georgian style ball & claw legs join into the center acanthus form carved column. Base and top are connected with a bronze hinge, unlocking which "tilts up" the top to vertical position, hence making it easy to tuck away for great display when not in use. Condition is good, showing light age / use wear, antique touch-ups, recently polished (please see photos). Size is large and impressive, when in use it stands 29" tall tall to the top of the gallery (27" table top surface), octagonal top is 29" x 29" diameter, and when standing up it is 43" height to the top, 29" wide and it is 19" deep. This will be a great addition to any traditional or mid-century modern setting. See less
