Mid century modern hexagonal “Zatonl” cork table lamp by Ingo Maurer for M Design, circa 1970s. Before the chandeliers, before the bulb sculptures, before Ingo Maurer became one of the most celebrated lighting designers of the 20th century, there was this. Fascinated with simple geometry, material honesty, and the quiet drama of atmospheric light. This lamp is constructed entirely from cork: a solid hexagonal column base supporting a wide, faceted shade that catches and diffuses light in a way no synthetic material could replicate. Original M Design manufacturer’s mark and signature in the side, confirming authenticity. A serious collectible for lovers of German modernism, 20th century design, and Maurer’s body of work. very good vintage condition. The shade has been carefully repaired and the lamp is solid, sturdy, and fully intact.
