The chest body is decorated in Kurbits style — the distinctive fantasy floral motif of Dalmålning, the regional painting tradition of Dalarna that reached its height between 1770 and 1870. The bold teal, cream, and dark brown brushwork on both the drawer front and the apron panel is characteristic of the Dalmålning hand: fluid, confident, and immediately recognizable.
The stand is built on four turned bobbin legs connected by turned stretchers, a form typical of Swedish provincial furniture. The lift-top chest conceals interior storage; a single drawer sits below. The faux-grain painting on the wood body — simulating figured walnut — is itself a traditional Swedish decorative technique of the period.
