A beautiful antique European rustic hand-crafted pine blanket chest with original paint on the front and sides... a dark green ground with red framed panels surrounding faux marbling in dark green and tan. The base of the chest is framed in black painted moulding. This blanket chest came from either Germany or Eastern Europe, perhaps Czechia. Old iron hardware is present though the chest no longer locks. The top of the chest is abraded from over a century of use but retains a rustic charm. This chest could be used at the foot of a bed or even as a coffee table. The back of the box has been painted a deep green to match the front and sides, so that the chest could be used in the round, as a coffee table.
The blanket chest has a waxed finish... just buff with a soft brush or an old t-shirt to increase the shine if it gets dull over time.
