The vessel is wheel-thrown and substantial in scale, with a wide mouth, gently tapering body, and a raised foot that gives the form both stability and visual lift. Small lug-style handles applied at the shoulder add a sculptural accent while reinforcing its utilitarian origins. The surface displays pronounced horizontal throwing lines beneath the glaze, emphasizing its handmade character. The coloration appears softly worn and naturally varied, with areas of green and reddish oxide breaking through the darker ground, creating a patinated, almost painterly effect. This weathered finish suggests age and use, lending the planter an authentic, timeworn presence rather than a decorative uniformity. The interior is lightly glazed, consistent with traditional Southeast Asian ceramic production intended for functional use, while the exterior glaze has a matte-to-satin sheen that absorbs light beautifully. The piece reads equally well as a planter, cachepot, or standalone decorative object. Its restrained palette and robust silhouette make it well suited for interiors that favor organic materials and collected textureswhether placed indoors as a sculptural accent or used in a covered outdoor setting. This planter exemplifies Thai studio and village pottery traditions, valued for form, surface, and honest craftsmanship rather than ornament alone.
