Model 608-30, produced in the late 1950s to early 1960s in Ransbach-Baumbach, Germany.

The vase stands 30 cm tall with a body diameter of 15 cm and features a generous barrel-shaped form tapering to a flared rim. The exterior is finished in a matte black ground glaze, hand-decorated with bold vertical stripes in brushed beige and delicate incised line work creating a flowing organic pattern across the surface. Scattered across the body are raised, glossy glaze motifs in vivid orange, blue, green, and white — the signature colour palette of the Valencia decor. The interior is finished in a rich sea-green gloss glaze, providing a striking contrast when viewed from above.

Bodo Mans (1921–2002) was one of the most influential designers in the West German ceramics industry. He served as head designer at Bay Keramik from 1959, creating some of the most iconic and collectable patterns of the era. The Valencia decor, with its joyful interplay of matte and glossy surfaces and its bold colour contrasts, remains one of his most sought-after designs among collectors of West German pottery.
