This is … Read more Mid-Century Modern Cocoon pendant lamp by Goldkant Leuchten, based on a design by Friedel Wauer from the 1960s. This is a very rare example, one I've never seen before.

A minimalist design. The Cocoon material provides diffused, atmospheric light. At the same time, the symmetrical lamp body makes an imposing statement piece in the room. The manufacturer, Goldkant, is known for various Cocoon lamp designs from the 1960s and 70s. Many Goldkant designs are often attributed to Castiglioni, as the patterns and forms used are very similar.
