Serigraph on cardboard created by Emilio Scanavino in the 1960s, reflecting the essential and synthetic sign-based language that characterizes the artist’s graphic production of the period.
The composition unfolds across a uniform green-turquoise field, traversed by a thin, nervous black line that constructs a suspended and unstable linear structure. The presence of a dark circular form introduces a point of visual tension, while small warm chromatic accents emphasize the gestural dimension of the mark, translating Scanavino’s research on rhythm, balance, and the relationship between sign and space into graphic form.
The serigraphic technique, defined by compact color fields and sharp contours, enhances the graphic quality of the image and reinforces its strongly iconic character. The cardboard support, typical of editorial graphic production of the period, provides material solidity and chromatic precision to the print.
The work bears the inscription L.S. (last frame), a notation used to identify a proof approved prior to the final print run. It is presented in a painted wooden frame.
