As with most pieces of antique preowned furniture this piece’s condition is commensurate with use and age. It has had extensive conservation work to restore it to its current condition. Most joints have been reglued. The drawer slides have been repaired or replaced and several drawers have had reconstruction replacing missing or badly damaged wood. Fortunately the case and drawer fronts are in excellent condition for their age. The case and drawer fronts are of solid curly maple in both its Tiger and Birds Eye forms and its finish has not been altered, simply cleaned and waxed. Many of the original interior glue blocks have been replaced restoring strength to the dresser. This is a beautiful 200 year old piece and would be a star in any room you would care to place it.
