Antique late Qing 19th century Chinese sang de boeuf oxblood flambe glaze scholar's water pot or Taibai jar. The base with double ring mark and crackle glaze finish. The glaze is thickly pooled and sheared at the foot.
A Taibai jar is a specialized Chinese ceramic vessel, typically a small, dome-shaped waterpot with a short, narrow neck popular during the Qing dynasty, particularly the Kangxi period. Known for their "beehive" shape, they often feature monochrome glaze and were crafted as essential items for a scholar's desk.
