this tall candlestick holder has a beautiful Raku glazing with darker gray/black matte glaze combined with white crackle glaze and the top part has a very interesting deep green with a slight metallic green-copper iridescent lusters.
it stands on a square cut glass base and it has a brass metal candle holder cup

Tony Evans (1942-2009) started his ceramic studio in Healsburg, California in the 1970s. Evans Ceramics produced Raku pottery influenced by the Japanese style and process. His ceramics became very popular and some of the major department stores sold his wares..

Raku pottery :
Raku generally refers to a type of low-firing process that was inspired by traditional Japanese raku firing. Western-style raku usually involves removing pottery from the kiln while at bright red heat and placing it into containers with combustible materials. Once the materials ignite, the containers are closed. This produces an intense reduction atmosphere which affects the colors in glazes and clay bodies.
