Typical of the modernist style with its airy lines, it is distinguished by its wealth of detail.

the glass is signed "ezan france." this manufacturer (1920-1940) is world-renowned for its opalescent pressed glass with bluish hues. The opalescence here reacts uniquely depending on the lighting (see photos): a cool bulb accentuates the azure tones, while a warm bulb reveals a warmer hue, eliminating the bluish reflections. The five shades feature a honeycomb-patterned embossed design, and a glass prism sphere completes the balance.

the frame is attributed to henri petitot. Made of copper with a medal patina, it testifies to the skill of this bronze craftsman. Petitot made the use of glass tubes to encase the central stem one of his aesthetic signatures. Here, sixteen glass tubes are precisely inserted into the structure, concealing the metal axis to create a sculptural column.

this attribution to petitot is based on formal analysis rather than a signature, allowing this piece to be offered at a more accessible price point today, while maintaining its high decorative quality and stylistic consistency with the productions of the period.

the piece is in very good condition. The patina is original. After almost 100 years, a slight crack is visible on the end of a single tube (completely invisible as it was concealed within the structure after assembly) (see photo).
