… From the same grand old Nantucket summer house that yielded our papier-mâché spectacles case comes this: a well-loved copy of Winnie-the-Pooh that spent the better part of a century on a family's shelves by the sea.
Published by E.P. Dutton & Company, 88th edition, July 1933 — well within the original American run, with Ernest H. Shepard's iconic decorations precisely as they were meant to be seen. The original teal cloth boards bear the gilt figures of Christopher Robin and Pooh, dimmed now to a gentle gold. The pages are cream and clean, the Shepard drawings crisp and complete.
This was clearly a child's book that became a family's book — passed down, held onto, carried to the island summer after summer. Someone knew better than to let it go.

Condition: Good antique condition. Cloth boards show age and wear at corners and spine edges; interior pages clean and bright throughout.
Origin: Private Nantucket estate
A hundred editions in and Milne still had readers. Ninety years on, so does this copy.
