Recently purchased in Southern Oregon with several objects from the Arizona Region, we suspect that the artist, WN Dougherty, painted this item in that area in 1953, the date he wrote below his signature. Housed in its original frame that shows layers of paint--a thick antique white mostly covering a lighter wash of lilac, which shows through in some areas, with bare wood peeking through that as well. The rustic condition of the original frame is well-suited for this painting. Two original eye hooks are attached with a new wire for sturdy hanging. Acrylic paint on masonite. See less
