Beautiful antique Japanese champlevé enamel and brass vase from the early 20th century.
The unique handles are some kind of mythical creature (Foo dogs?).
The vase is created using the champlevé technique, where enamel is filled into carved or cast troughs in the brass body, leaving raised metal lines to outline the designs.
Marked "Made in Japan" on the bottom.
This is a heavy piece, weighing almost 3 lbs.!
