Original 1956 color lithograph on vellum paper by Georges Braque (French, 1882–1963), depicting a stylized bird and nest composition in rich brown and cream tones. Titled “L’Oiseau et son Nid” (“Bird and Its Nest”).
Issued as part of Derrière le Miroir, no. 85–86, published by Galerie Maeght / Aimé Maeght, Paris for Braque’s 1956 exhibition. The reverse contains printed French text from the magazine. Examples from this issue are generally described as unsigned and unnumbered as issued, with the artist’s signature appearing in the image rather than as a hand signature.
