For the collector, this Royal Doulton Imari style jug was produced in the early 1900’s as part of the Japonisme movement. The European potters wished to mimic the Japanese style and mixed it with a bit of Chinese features and the English tradition… hence the dragon handle (Chinese) and the English jug form.
The colors on this piece are vivid cobalt, red and gold true to Imari patterns and the original crackle glaze was intentional to look aged. Now this jug has true age according to the makers mark on the bottom.
Add this to your collection… it is a stand out piece.
