This antique, Schierholz Plaue, porcelain centerpiece bowl, with cherubs and floral decorations, was produced by Schierholz & Sahn, also known as Porzellanfabrik Plaue. They were a prominent German, porcelain manufacturer, established in Plaue, Thuring, in 1879. The company was renowned for its high-quality, porcelain figures, tableware, and decorative items, featuring intricate detailing and hand-painted embellishments. Their works frequently drew inspiration from Rococo and Baroque styles. These elaborate pieces were typically produced for the luxury market and served as statement, decorative items, in affluent homes.
I have seen a few of these centerpiece, bowls, and they are not nearly as ornate as this one. Usually, they are missing pieces or have been poorly repaired.
