Beautifully preserved set of Bernhardt dining chairs, factory-dated to 1975. This is a rare opportunity to own a complete, authenticated designer set for a fraction of current Bernhardt retail prices (comparable new sets retail for $5,500+).
The Design
Offered is an exceptional heritage set of five (5) dining chairs from the renowned Bernhardt Furniture Company of Lenoir, North Carolina. Manufactured in late 1975, these chairs belong to Bernhardt’s prestigious Suite 210 collection. The design showcases a sophisticated Italian Neoclassical style, blending Tuscan elegance with Coastal Modern influences.
The set includes four (4) side chairs and one (1) armchair (Captain’s chair). Each features an elegant high-back design topped with a shell crest carving—a classic motif adding a touch of historical grandeur. The hand-woven cane backs are in impeccable condition, offering both breathability and timeless aesthetic appeal.
Materials & Construction
• Frames: Expertly crafted from solid Fruitwood (Pecan/Oak) with a warm, medium-brown finish that beautifully displays the natural wood grain.
• Upholstery: Original neutral tan herringbone textile (Code 117-73). The fabric is in excellent vintage condition and complements the wood tones perfectly.
• Support: Original urethane foam cushions that remain firm and comfortable for modern use.
Authenticity & Condition
A collector's dream—these chairs retain all original factory labels and law tags, documenting their November 1975 production date.
• Suite/Article No: 210-521 / 210-522
• Condition Report: Excellent vintage condition. The cane is sturdy, tight, and hole-free. Frames are solid with no wobbles. Minor cosmetic scuffs on lower leg edges have been professionally touched up with a color-matched stain marker and are not significant to the naked eye.
