Meji era Japanese woodblock print of two Samurai / Kabuki actors and horse by Utagawa Kunisada III (1848 – 1920). This is an original antique print from 1884 and has been newly framed. The two samurai depicted are part of the famous 47 ronin story. This woodblock print can be found in the Ukiyo-E.org database.
ARTIST: Utagawa Kunisada III (1848 – 1920) was an apprentice of Utagawa Kunisada (1786 – 1864), also known as Toyokuni III. He started his training under Toyokuni III at the age of 10, and continued under Kunisada II after their master's death.
Condition: Good condition for age – some imperfections. Please note that antique and vintage artworks may have traces of time, stains and creases due to age, so please review all photos.
