This "Grand Scale" … Read more Offered is a premier example of Texas Biedermeier craftsmanship: a mid-19th-century Solid Walnut High-Tester bed (c. 1850s). This "Grand Scale" estate piece was crafted by master German immigrant cabinetmakers in Galveston, Texas, during the city's mid-century Golden Era.

The bed features a distinguished scrolled pediment headboard and robust stacked post architecture. The entire frame assembles via interlocking wooden components with the use of some metal bolts.

Provenance:
The bed boasts documented, unbroken single-family ownership for over 170 years. Detailed genealogical provenance from the family historian is available to the purchaser. The piece can be traced from its original procurement in the mid-19th century to the present .
