An exceptional and visually commanding Chinese six-panel folding screen, exquisitely crafted with intricate hardstone and abalone inlay set against a deep, high-gloss black lacquer ground. This remarkable piece captures a richly detailed landscape animated by eight spirited horses in motion—symbols of strength, vitality, and success in Chinese culture.

The composition unfolds across all six panels with extraordinary artistry: carved semi-precious stones—including jade, serpentine, soapstone, and agate—form blossoming trees, scholar’s rocks, and floral motifs such as peonies and magnolias.
