A Bailaora - the Spanish term for a female Flamenco dancer. Here's her portrait created at a live meetup. This painting which measures 20" tall by 16" wide was painted from life and inspired by my trip to Málaga, Spain. Brian found this exotically beautiful flamenco dancer for the meet-up that night. My color palette was influenced by the color blues of the Mediterranean. and warm Spanish sun. John, my framer, had made this frame and we both thought it echoed the Spanish felling and style. The frame is warm coppery red wood with a gold gilt and a warm green gray shadow tone. The frame's muted red enhances the red hat, flower, lipstick and flounce of the skirt. Classic, elegant, European presentation for the painting. The painting is signed on the lower right corner. Overall, the framed art work measures 22 inches tall by 18 inches wide. There is something about a portrait to enhance the mood of room, add mystery, drama and excitement. Don't you agree?
