This antique handmade French redware bowl was made Savoie region of France from 1880-1920. It has a rich brown background and dots of yellow, green and black. The inside butter yellow paint drips over the edge.
Jaspe pottery is typically marble-like swirls of colors or geometric designs of lines and dots. The colors are most often in earth tones of rust, green, brown, and yellow. This pottery was country pottery and meant to be used. I love this unique style of pottery, it is so fun to mix and match the different patterns for a beautiful collection
