Small rectangular black lacquer box, made in Palekh, Russia. The artist is Moroz, and this is a folklore scene called “Emelya & Magic Pike”.
The box measures 2 3/8” in length, 1 1/2” wide, height is 1 1/8”. It is a hinged box, and a great piece for any collection. Detailed artistry !
Brightly colored, Emelya is holding the magic fish in this winter scene.
