Original color etching with aquatint by Johnny Friedlaender (German/French, 1912–1992), one of the 20th century's foremost printmakers and a pioneer of color aquatint technique. Pencil signed "Friedlaender" lower right and numbered 60/110 lower left. Bears a publisher's blind stamp in the lower right corner of the plate.
The composition features Friedlaender's signature visual language — fragmented geometric forms in salmon pink and cerulean blue float against a richly textured ground of earth tones, olive, and charcoal, punctuated by ink spatters and gestural mark-making. A central circular motif anchored by radiating lines draws the eye through the layered, atmospheric field. Consistent with his mature work from the late 1960s–1970s.
Presented in a gold-tone metal frame with cream mat. Condition is good overall, with colors remaining vibrant; frame shows light wear consistent with age.
Friedlaender studied under Otto Mueller at the Breslau Art Academy before fleeing to Paris as a political refugee in 1937. His work is held in major collections worldwide, including the Musée Unterlinden in Colmar and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
